Oceanport Hit By Delivered Package Thefts
Police are investigating a string of burglaries in the area that involve the theft of delivered packages from residences.

Police are investigating a string of package thefts from residents’ doorsteps in Monmouth Beach and Oceanport.
Monmouth Beach Police Sgt. Daniel McManus reported that four residents on the west side of Monmouth Beach were robbed of delivered packages, according to the Asbury Park Press.
The thefts occurred on Dec. 2, with the packages valued between $20 and $480.

An investigation is jointly being investigated with the Oceanport Police Department, after that township saw a wave of package thefts during the same time period. The thefts prompted the police department to post a warning on its Facebook page, warning residents to be mindful of expected deliveries.
Police have investigated one suspect, and have two other persons of interest.
