Car Stolen From Livingston Home, Recovered In Bloomfield: Police
An investigation into the home burglary continues, authorities said.
ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — A car was recently stolen during a home burglary in Livingston and recovered in Bloomfield, authorities say.
According to the Livingston Police Department, officers responded to a home on Virginia Avenue at 7:32 a.m. on Jan. 6 after getting a report about a burglary and stolen car.
The homeowner told police that he woke up and found that a 2025 BMW X5 was missing. The suspects apparently gained entry to the home’s garage through an unlocked window. Once inside the garage, they entered the home via an unsecured interior garage door, took two sets of keys and fled with the car, authorities said.

The vehicle was later located in Bloomfield and towed back to Livingston police headquarters for processing. An investigation continues, authorities said Monday.
