Get to Know the School Budget

Public hearing on spending plan is Monday night. Workshop on special education is Tuesday.

Have something to say about the You’ll have a chance on Monday night when the Board of Education hosts a public hearing at 7:30 p.m. at Livingston High School.

The BOE has approved a tentative $100.6 million spending plan with taxes rising 1.3 percent to support the budget.

Members of the community are strongly encouraged to attend Monday’s forum.  Information about the budget may be found on the district's Web site here.

Board members will vote to adopt the budget following the public hearing. They will also vote on the ballot question for the  school board election. If approved, voters will be asked to allow the BOE to raise $89.8 million through taxes. The meeting agenda may be found here.

Parents & Professionals for Exceptional Children (PPEC) will be hosting a school budget presentation on Tuesday, March 29 at 7 p.m. in the high school auditorium.  This presentation will focus on programs.

Following the budget presentation, attendees are invited to stay and meet Larry Russell, the new Assistant Superintendent for Students Services and Instruction.  “20 Questions with will provide for an opportunity to candidly ask questions about his goals for the district.

Budget presentations will also take place for the upper grades on Wednesday, March 30 at 7 p.m. in the high school's media center. Parents can learn more about spending plans at Mt. Pleasant Middle, Heritage Middle and Livingston High School at the meeting.
