LIVINGSTON, NJ — The following news release comes courtesy of the Township of Livingston. Find out how to post announcements or events to your local Patch site.

The Livingston Health Department is offering the High-Dose Trivalent Influenza Vaccine licensed for adults ages 65 and older by appointment at the Livingston Senior/Community Center, 204 Hillside Avenue, on the lower level. If you haven’t gotten a flu vaccine yet, it’s not too late to get one still.

The flu is a respiratory virus that can be mild or severe. While most people recover from the flu within a few days, for others, it can lead to complications such as pneumonia, heart problems, and ear infections. One of the best ways to protect yourself from the flu is by getting a flu vaccine each year, which can help lower your risk of infection. Those who get a flu vaccine may still get the flu; however, they may only get a milder case and might not experience complications from the flu due to the protection the vaccine provides.
