Livingston High School Soars to Top 150 Best High Schools in the Nation
Newsweek's annual report, listing more than 700 schools nationwide, ranks Livingston High School at number 150.

Talk about a jump start! Livingston High School is already ahead of the game and the school year hasn’t even started yet. After coming in at number 16 in NJ Monthly’s list of the top high schools in the state, LHS now holds the honor of being ranked as one of the best schools in the nation.
Today, Newsweek announced its rankings of more than 700 public, private, charter and magnet schools across the country, and Livingston High School comes in at number 150. Unfortunately, this is eight steps down from last year’s ranking at 142. However, the 2014 ranking is still a monumental improvement, considering that the school jumped nearly 100 points between 2013 and 2012, when the school was ranked at 253.
Newsweek used six indicators for its ranking methodology, its Daily Beast website said, including graduation and college acceptance rates; college-level courses and exams; percentage of students with free or reduced lunch; and SAT and ACT scores.
According to Newsweek, Livingston High School’s graduation rate is 96-percent with 98-percent of seniors enrolling in college after graduation. Additionally, only 3-percent of students participate in free or reduced lunch programs.
