New Year's Holiday Reminders In Livingston: Closures, Garbage, Recycling
Here are some local updates to know for the 2026 New Year's holiday in Livingston.
LIVINGSTON, NJ — Livingston will close all municipal offices and Town Hall on Thursday, Jan. 1 and Friday, Jan. 2 in observance of the New Year's holiday.
All offices will reopen during regular business hours on Monday, Jan. 5.

TRASH – There will be no garbage pickup on Thursday, Jan. 1 for Monday/Thursday streets. Garbage will be picked up on the next regularly scheduled day, which is Monday, Jan. 5.
RECYCLING – There will be no regular mixed paper recycling pickup on Thursday, Jan. 1, and collection will move one day later for the rest of the week.

- Monday, Zone 1, December 29: Regular pickup
- Tuesday, Zone 2, December 30: Regular pickup
- Wednesday, Zone 3, December 31: Regular Pickup
- Thursday, Zone 4, January 1: No pickup; recycling will instead be picked up on Friday, January 2
- Friday, Zone 5, January 2: Pickup moves to Saturday, January 3
METAL RECYCLING – The 2026 program will start on Friday, Jan. 23, 2026, and online registration for metal pickup will be available starting on Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2026.
