Livingston Resident to Teach Master Class at Local Yoga Studio
Ignite Yoga Center in Livingston is offering programs and master classes for yoga instructors who are looking to expand their craft.

Beginning in the month of October, Livingston’s Ignite Yoga Center will offer two programs for current yoga instructors to deepen their knowledge and expand their repertoire.
On Friday, Oct. 17 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., teachers Joey Sbarro of Livingston, and Roz Nichols will teach a workshop on Advanced Assists and Adjustments for Yoga Teachers, including Thai Yoga Massage.
From October 2014 through June 2015, Ignite will offer a 500-hour Yoga Alliance Training open to instructors who already hold their 200-hour teaching certificate.

The 500-hour Yoga Alliance teacher training will be led by Agnes Tengerdy and Daniele Jarman. Classes will meet every Friday from approximately 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., depending on the participants’ schedules.
The training will delve into the vast healing technology of yoga. Students will refine and advance their teaching skills and expand and deepen their personal practice. Subjects covered will include creative sequencing, advanced adjustments, deeper exploration of the bandhas and chakras, anatomy, yin yoga and pranayama, and advanced use of props as well as study of spiritual texts.

Master Classes
On Friday, Oct. 17 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Ignite will hold a master class focusing on Advanced Assists and Adjustments for Yoga Teachers. This workshop offers the opportunity for instructors to expand their yoga teaching skills in this hands-on training. Teachers will build their confidence in the practice of safe, intelligent assists and corrections and the art of deepening asanas.
Joey Sbarro, a resident of Livingston, has been a 200+ hour yoga teacher since 2010 and has studied in New York and internationally. He currently teaches at Ignite and Pure in New York City, among several other studios. Sbarro will be teaching the advanced assists and adjustments that will allow any teacher to bring a new depth and sensitivity to their work.
Roz Nichols, a 200+ hour teacher since 2010 and a Thai Yoga Bodywork practitioner since 2011, will share the relaxing, healing effects Thai Yoga massage produces. Nichols will demonstrate the finesse of Thai Yoga Bodywork adjustments that will easily fit into teachers’ classes and private sessions and add a unique dimension to existing skills. Students of this workshop will partner each other in practicing these new techniques for a fun and rewarding experience.
Applications for the 500-hour teacher training are currently being accepted; further information can be found online at www.igniteyoganj.com. The cost of the certification is $3800, and includes all classes at Ignite for the 9-month duration of the program.
