Livingston Resident Sees Car Thief Drive Away With His Vehicle: Police

The car's owner told police that the vehicle was likely unlocked and the key fob was left inside.

LIVINGSTON, NJ — A car thief recently stole a vehicle from a Livingston resident’s driveway as he witnessed the crime from inside his home, authorities said Tuesday.

According to the Livingston Police Department, officers responded to a Browning Drive residence at 12:15 a.m. on Thursday after getting a call about a stolen car.

The victim told officers that he parked his 2018 BMW X3 in the driveway earlier in the evening. When he heard voices shouting, he looked outside and saw someone get into his car and drive away.

The Livingston Police Department Detective Bureau processed the scene. An investigation continues, authorities said.
