Court handles five cases.

Livingston Municipal Court handled five cases.

In State v. Veronica Iyahen of Newark, the State charged Iyahen with shoplifting jewelry and clothing worth $99 from Sears. Iyahen pled guilty. The Court sentenced her to 15 days of community service, and imposed a $500 fine, $33 in court costs, a $50 VCCO penalty and a $75 safe neighborhood fee.

In State v. Savitri Alberdo of Newark, the State charged Alberdo with shoplifting perfume and clothing worth $280 from Sears. Alberto pled guilty to an amended charge of theft. The Court imposed a $300 fine, $33 in court costs, a $50 VCCO penalty and a $75 safe neighborhood fee.

In State v. Nordia Raymond of Orange, the State charged Raymond with shoplifting clothing worth $117.48 from Macy's. Raymond pled guilty to an amended charge of creating a disturbance. The Court imposed upon defendant Raymond a $250 fine and $33 in court costs.

In State v. Jamshid Abdul-Karim of Edison, the State charged Abdul-Karim (one of the workers at the carnival) with assault (regarding a fight at the Academy Exxon). Abdul-Karim pled guilty to an amended charge of creating a disturbance on private property. The Court imposed upon Abdul-Karim a $100 fine and $33 in court costs.

In State v. Alec Friedman of Livingston, the State charged him with providing false information to a law enforcement officer (falsely claiming to have been the driver, as opposed to the passenger, of a vehicle in order to protect his friend who was in an accident while driving). He pled guilty to creating a disturbance on private property.  The Court imposed upon a $250 fine and $33 in court costs.
