Tennis Legend Andre Agassi to Attend Ribbon Cutting of New Charter School
Agassi will be on hand at the opening of the University Heights Charter School in Newark, an investment of the Turner-Agassi Charter fund.

Tennis legend Andre Agassi, along with Bobby Turner and Essex County Freeholder Rolando Bobadilla will celebrate the new 34,000-square-foot Upper School campus of University Heights Charter School in Newark, on Wednesday, Sept. 24 with a ribbon cutting and speaking program at 10:30 a.m.
The new Charter School is an investment of the Turner-Agassi Charter School Facilities Fund. Agassi will be on hand to greet stuednts, watch a student perfornance, and witness remarks from dignitaries. Community members, fellow Charter School executives and directors, and UHCS students, teachers, and parents will also be on hand for the opening.
University Heights Charter School (UHCS) serves 625 students in Pre-K through eighth grade in two neighboring locations. The school is the first New Jersey investment of the Turner-Agassi Charter School Facilities Fund, a mission-driven investment fund providing facilities for high-achieving charter schools across the U.S. Turner-Agassi plans to develop 70-75 schools serving approximately 35,000 students by the fall of 2015.

The new 34,000-square-foot Upper School includes a renovated former button factory as well as a brand-new school building. UHCS is dedicated to developing in each student the character, scholarship, and leadership needed for success in life, college, and community.
