Two New Faces Join District's Special Education Team

Terry Santora and Todd Mitchell recently joined the district as supervisors of special services.

Livingston students will see new faces this fall in the special education department.

Terry Santora and Todd Mitchell recently joined the district as supervisors of special services.

The new supervisors will work with Lawrence Russell, assistant superintendent, as integral members of the Livingston’s special education team.

“Their roles will expand on our commitment to effectively and efficiently serve students and their families, and to guide our teachers and child study teams,” said Superintendent Dr. John B. Alfieri," said Russell.

Santora recently retired as a supervisor of special services for Millburn Public Schools and will serve in Livingston on an interim basis. In Millburn, she provided decades of service to special needs students and their families in order to ensure their total success in the public schools.

Mitchell comes to Livingston from the Vernon, where she was a supervisor for special services. Mitchell worked in private practices and medical settings as a licensed, professional physical therapist before joining public schools, where she has built programs for preschool children and autistic children.

The new team will take over from the work of Linda Edwards, who left Livingston to become director of special services in the Scotch Plains-Fanwood.
