‘Void In Hearts Of Many’ After Livingston Teen Dies In NYC

A public candlelight vigil will take place for Shiv Kulkarni of Livingston on Aug. 8.

LIVINGSTON, NJ — A candlelight vigil will take place on Sunday, Aug. 8 for a Livingston High School student who recently died while on holiday with his family.

According to a Livingston Township social media post:

“Shiv Kulkarni, 14, a resident of Livingston Township and a rising freshman at Livingston High School, passed away while on holiday with his family in New York City. Shiv was an intelligent and kind soul, and an affectionate son, brother and friend. His passing leaves a void in the hearts of so many who loved him dearly.”

A public, in-person vigil is being held to celebrate his life on Sunday, Aug. 8 at 7:30 p.m. at the gazebo at the Memorial Oval, 30 Robert Harp Drive in Livingston. Candles will be provided, but participants should bring lighters, if possible.
