Calm Seas On Monmouth County Beaches, But Rain May Be On The Way
Low risk of rip currents today, waves will only be two feet high

MONMOUTH COUNTY, NJ - If you're heading to the beach, try and go early. Rain may be on the way later.
The National Weather Service is calling for partly sunny skies with a chance of thunderstorms. There's a moderate threat of lightning. Highs will be in the mid 70s. The ultraviolet index is a 9, which the NWS considers very high, so bring the sunscreen if you are planning on tanning.
The rip current risk is low today, but rips can still occur at near jetties and other structures. Some beaches are guarded today, but not many. It's still too early in the season. Never swim on an unguarded beach and never swim alone or at night.
