Deaths Of Two Men Found In Long Branch Home Still A Mystery

The bodies of Gerald Scarano, 63, and Harold Kelly, 48, were discovered on the night of June 12 in the home they shared.

LONG BRANCH, NJ - It's been almost a week authorities found the bodies of two men in a home on Ocean Boulevard.

But the circumstances and the cause of the deaths of Gerald Scarano, 63, and Harold Kelly, 48, are still unknown.

The two men shared a home at 336 Ocean Boulevard. Long Branch officers responded to a call on the night of June 12 to check on the well-being of a person at the home. They discovered the two deceased men.

The Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office is waiting for the results of the medical examiner's report before any more information is released, said spokesman Christopher Swendeman

"That will help us confirm manner of death," he said today. "We obviously want to get the details out to the media as fast as possible, but we also want to be right about what we provide."

Just when the medical examiner's report will be released is still uncertain, Swendeman said.

Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni and Long Branch Police Department Chief Jason Roebuck said last week that they considered the deaths an "isolated incident" and said that there is no threat to the public. The two people knew each other, they have said.
