Eatontown Police Looking For Mystery Shooters

Shots fired into the air on Saturday night in the Richardson Avenue area, police say

EATONTOWN, NJ - Eatontown police want to know who fired shots into the air near a house party on Saturday night, Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni said.

Detectives are asking for the public's help to identify whoever fired the bullets, even though there were no injuries, he said.

The Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office and Eatontown police responded to the Richardson Avenue area on reports of gunshots being fired, Gramiccioni said.

Authorities found an area homeowner who reported seeing two groups of juveniles in the middle of Richardson Avenue.

"It was reported that one of the juveniles pointed a handgun into the air and fired two shots," Gramiccioni said. "Patrols spoke with a group of individuals who had attended a house party in the same area, but they had no information on any possible suspects."

There doesn't seem to be any danger to the public and no injuries were reported, but authorities want to know who fired the shots, he said.
