Sports Authority Collecting Food for Sandy Victims

Five Sports Authority locations will hold a food drive this weekend to benefit Sandy victims.

From Friday to Sunday, the locations will offer a 15 percent off coupon to anyone who donates non-perishable food items at each store.

The locations are:

• West Long Branch, 310 Route 36


• Hazlet, 3434 Route 35


• Manalapan, 55 Route 9


• Brick, 1 Brick Plaza


• East Brunswick, 300 Route 18

The food drive is being sponsored in conjunction with Move for Hunger, a local nonprofit organization. Coupons will be available for download at moveforhunger.org/sportsauthority.

Food donations will be sent directly to the Food Bank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties and the Community Food Bank of New Jersey.

While all donations are welcome, the most needed items are canned fish, vegetables, chicken and stews, rice, pasta and peanut butter and jelly.
