Final Long Branch Summer Concert Held Thursday Night

The summer season in Long Branch is drawing to a close and the final performance of the summer concert series is scheduled for tonight in Pier Village.

Brian Kirk and the Jirks will perform at Festival Plaza in Pier Village at 7 p.m. for the last Thursday by the Sea Concert this summer.

The band has a variety of musical styles and is one of the more popular bands on the Jersey Shore.

The Blues by the Beach concert series ended on Sunday in West End Park on Brighton Avenue with a performance by the Voodudes and the Long Branch Jazz and Blues Festival on the Great Lawn served as another day to wind down the summer last Saturday, Aug. 25.

All of Long Branch's summer concerts are supported by a Long Community Development Block Grant and the US Department of Housing and Urban Development. The Long Branch Urban Enterprise Zone Program also helps fund many of the concerts each summer.
