Long Branch Citizens Police Academy Looking For Applicants

Get hands-on experience about what it's like to be a police officer during the 8-week course

LONG BRANCH, NJ - The Long Branch Police Academy is looking for members for its sixth class, which starts on Tuesday, March 20.

The class will meet every Tuesday from 6 p.m. to 8 pm. for eight weeks at Brookdale Community College. It's open to individuals age 18 and over.

The academy's goal is to provide members with a greater understanding of police department operations. Participants will receive hands-on experience like ride-a-longs, firearms, K-9 demonstrations, tours of the police department and motor vehicle stops, according to the police department's Facebook page.

Completed applications can be mailed or dropped off to Headquarters at 344 Broadway, Long Branch, NJ 07740.
