Long Branch Loses Longtime Lieutenant Patrick Joyce
A Memorial Service for the well-regarded retired police officer will be announced as soon as the arrangements are available.

LONG BRANCH, NJ - Members of the Long Branch Police Department are mourning the loss of retired Lt. Patrick Joyce, who died on Wednesday, according to a post on the police department's Facebook page.
"Today the Long Branch Police Department lost a great man, retired Lieutenant Pat Joyce #151," according to the Dec. 17 post. "Lt. Joyce passed away this morning after an illness. The Department sends our condolences to his family. Arrangements are still pending."
Many residents and friends took the time to post on the police department's Facebook page about the loss of Joyce.

"Rest In Peace Lt," one man wrote. "You were a gentleman, friend, mentor and intelligent leader. It was an honor to serve under you. Condolences to Pat Jr. and the family. He will be missed."
Police Chief Jason Roebuck recalled Joyce as "a great guy," who had served in the detective bureau for many years.

A Memorial Service is planned for after the New Year. Joyce will be cremated, Roebuck said.
