Long Branch Police Chief - Please Lock Your Doors!
Police Chief Jason Roebuck asks residents to keep vehicle doors locked after a spate of burglaries, and to secure landscaping items.

LONG BRANCH, NJ - Please, make it easy on yourselves and the police department.
Police Chief Jason Roebuck says the command staff's recent monthly review of cases has shown some burglaries to unlocked vehicles.
"Here at the Long Branch Police Department, we are proud that our residents and visitors feel safe enough that they don't want to lock their vehicles at night," the chief wrote in a post on the department's Facebook page. "But we are asking you, ok, maybe begging you, please don't do it! Lock your car doors, and please don't leave your fancy key fobs in the car either!"

Roebuck also asks that residents keep landscaping equipment like chainsaws, leaf blowers and weed wackers locked up, either inside or in a cabinet on their vehicles.
There have been "more than a few instances" of equipment left unsecured that have been stolen, the chief said.
