Long Branch Police Chief - Social Media Postings Deemed No Threat
The subject was interviewed and said the postings were "a joke," chief says

LONG BRANCH, NJ - Police found no threats in social media pictures that were posted on Tuesday and have already interviewed the person responsible, Police Chief Jason Roebuck said.
"Please be assured the Long Branch Police Department was in constant contact with school officials, and the incident was fully investigated," the chief wrote on the department's Facebook page. "No weapons were discovered, and there is no threat at this time."
Police have already identified and interviewed the person who was responsible for the postings, he said.

"It was termed as “a joke”, and yes not a very good one considering recent events, Roebuck said.
"Thank you for your continued vigilance in these matters," he wrote. "Working together we can prevent tragedies from happening in our city. Thank you to all those who called and texted with information.
