LONG BRANCH, NJ – City officials announced on Friday morning that there is no rain date scheduled for the city's Columbus Day parade on Sunday and that any decision on cancelation will be made on the morning of the event.

"We are really looking forward to the parade on Sunday. It was canceled last year due to COVID, so we are hoping for good weather. The families in Long Branch enjoy watching the parade," Mayor John Pallone said to Patch.

The parade is scheduled for 1 p.m, with the parade route starting at Long Branch Middle School, then heading down Bath Avenue, then down Broadway to Morris Avenue, then down Morris Avenue, where the parade will end at Morris Avenue School.

Broadway from Bath Avenue to Morris Avenue along with Morris and Bath Avenues will be closed from 11 a.m. Sunday morning until the parade ends, so parade-goers should expect some congestion trying to get around.
