Man Who Drowned Off Seven Presidents Beach In Long Branch Identified

LONG BRANCH, NJ - Police have identified the swimmer who drowned off Seven Presidents Park beach during the evening of Sept. 23, on an unguarded beach.

Weining Liu, 34, of Piscataway, was pulled from the water by rescue swimmers from the Long Branch Police Department after they received a report of a swimmer in distress, according to app.com

The National Weather Service had issued high rip current risks and waves of up to six feet that day. Erin Higgins, 42, of Harriman, New York, died several days before after she was rescued from turbulent surf off an unguarded beach in Asbury Park.
