The grant will help the center make various infrastructure repairs and improvements to help serve more people.

LONG BRANCH, NJ – Monmouth Family Health Center in Long Branch was one of 24 federally qualified medical centers in New Jersey that were recently rewarded a grant from the American Rescue Plan/

According to Marta Silverberg, a CFO at Monmouth Family Health Center, the $650,000 grant will be used to fix up the facade at the Center’s main building on 270 Broadway and its Women’s Wellness Center on 80 Pavillion Avenue and make other improvements to help the Center grow and help more people.

“This grant is a huge help for us,” Silverberg said to Patch. “We going to be able to put both our buildings on generators so that we’re able to continue to help patients even when the power goes out.
Silverberg also said that the Center is looking to buy a modular unit so that they can take in more patients at the Women’s Wellness Center.

Congressman Frank Pallone, who chairs the House’s Energy and Commerce Committee included this funding in the American Rescue Plan that was signed into law in March.
“Health centers provide critical care to underserved populations in our state. During the COVID-19 pandemic, they have been on the frontline of this public health crisis, and we must do everything we can to ensure they have the resources they need to operate effectively,” Pallone said in a statement announcing the grants.
“These awards will help health care facilities in our community better serve patients, and I’m glad to see funding from the American Rescue Plan reach New Jersey.”
