Partly Sunny Skies Today At Monmouth County Beaches
There's a low rip current risk today, ocean water temperature is slowly warming up, National Weather Service says.
MONMOUTH COUNTY, NJ - The National Weather Service is calling for partly sunny skies and warmer temperatures today at Monmouth County beaches.
Highs today will be in the lower 80s. Winds will be from the south, gradually increasing to 10 to 15 miles per hour. There is no lightning threat.
There's a low risk of rip currents today. But rips can always occur, especially near jetties and other structures. Do your homework and check to see if the beach you want to go to is guarded on weekdays. Yes, today will be hot, but never swim on an unguarded beach and never swim alone or at night.

Waves will be from 2 to 3 feet today, with southeast swells of 2 feet. The ocean water temperature has warmed up to 66 degrees, still chilly, but warmer than the past few weeks.
The ultraviolet index is a 10, as high as it gets. So if you're planning on working on a tan, bring the sunscreen.
