Public Is Invited To Long Branch Police Swearing-In Ceremony

Police Chief Jason Roebuck and six new police officers will be officially sworn in on Feb. 2

LONG BRANCH, NJ - Police Chief Jason Roebuck will be officially sworn in at a ceremony on Friday, Feb. 2 at City Hall.

The ceremony will began at 4 p.m. in the City Council chambers at 344 Broadway. Six of the city's newest police officers will also be sworn in. They include Conor Mullan, Shane Carroll, Christopher Remedios, Julian Morgan, Evan Morrell and Daniel Cunha.

Roebuck had been serving as the acting police chief for several months. The city was waiting for the results of the New Jersey Civil Service exam.

"He was appointed Chief after the test results were certified and showed that his score placed him at the top of the list," according to the police department's Facebook page.

Roebuck was sworn in as police chief on Jan. 16 in a non-public ceremony. He had also served as the department's public safety director before the city switched back to the police chief position.

The public is invited to attend the ceremony.
