Rev. Steven Robert Mamchak Jr. Of West Long Branch Dies At 77

Rev. Steven Robert Mamchak, Jr. died Monday, Dec. 5, 2016 at Monmouth Medical Center. He was 77.

His life was full and varied. He taught in Middletown for 35 years. A prolific writer, he wrote 30 books. His first love, however, was theater; acting, directing, or writing more than 200 plays. He co-founded Ezekiel's Wheels of Long Branch (EWLB), a salvaged food network.

He leaves behind his wife of 52 years, Susan.

Ever the teacher, his remains were donated to Robert Wood Johnson Medical School to further the education of future doctors.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Sat., Jan. 7, 2017 at the 1st Assembly of God, 220 Sycamore Ave., Shrewsbury, NJ 07702. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the church for EWLB. Please go to damianofuneralhome.com for the complete obituary or to send a letter of condolence.
