MONMOUTH COUNTY, NJ - It's not shaping up to be a great weekend beach day.
The National Weather Service is forecasting gloomy skies, rough surf and a moderate risk of rip currents for Monmouth County beaches.
If you can find a guarded beach, and there are some open this weekend, be sure to check with the guards about beach conditions. Never swim on an unguarded beach and never swim alone or at night. Don't be a statistic this summer.

Waves will be around 5 feet high, with southeasterly swells of 2 to 3 feet. The ocean water temperature is 68 degrees.
Skies will be mostly cloudy, with showers and a chance of thunderstorms. The lightning threat is high, which means that thunderstorms are likely or expected. Highs will be in the mid 70s. Winds will be from the east at 10 to 15 miles per hour,

Low tide at Belmar arrived at 10:26 a.m. High tide will roll in at 4:46 p.m., followed by another low tide at 11:05 p.m.
