Second Phase Of Lake Tak Dredging Project To Begin Next Week
The project will remove about 16,000 cubic yards of soil and is scheduled to be completed in February.

LONG BRANCH, NJ – In a letter posted on the borough’s Facebook page, the city of Long Branch announced Thursday that the second phase of the Lake Takanassee dredging project would start next week.
In the letter written by city engineer Michael Goldstein, the project is broken into two parts and will remove around 16000 cubic yards of sediment from the bottom of the portion of the lake between Woodgate Avenue and the train tracks. The dredging will help the lake’s stormwater retention as well as its water quality.
The first part of the project will start next week and take about two months to complete. The project consists of clearing out overgrown vegetation, lowering the lake, and salvaging all fish and wildlife.
