Showers And Thunderstorms Possible At Monmouth Beaches Today

The rip current risk is moderate, wave heights will be around 3 feet, National Weather Service says.

MONMOUTH COUNTY, NJ - It's not looking like such a great beach day today.

The National Weather Service is calling for mostly cloudy skies with isolated showers and thunderstorms. The highs today will only reach the lower 80s. Winds will be from the southwest at 10 miles per hour.

The rip current risk is still moderate. If you still plan to swim despite the weather, only swim on a guarded beach and never swim alone or at night. The NWS suggests you bring a flotation device with you before heading in the water. There's been too many drownings and multiple water rescues already this season. Don't be a statistic.
