The studio, located on Brighton Avenue in Long Branch, offers many types of classes and services to help people with their stress and more.

LONG BRANCH, NJ – As we are still in the midst of a pandemic, keeping one’s physical health has been paramount in most people’s minds for over a year now.
What is just as important, though, is this pandemic’s mental and emotional effect on people. While we are not render stuck to our homes like we were during the first couple of months of the pandemic, there is still a ton to worry about between vaccines and mask mandates and all that is currently going on.
For Emily Sobel, owner of Sun Moon Yoga and Healing, it’s the mental aspect of dealing with the pandemic that she feels is just as important and that people should try things like yoga and meditation to help combat any stress or anxiety that comes with dealing with the pandemic.

“I feel that it’s really necessary for people to come in, and a lot of our yoga is not a workout, it’s a work-in,” Sobel said.
Sobel feels that people are hesitant to try yoga because they think it takes tremendous physical effort, which isn’t necessarily true.

“People are always saying, ‘I can’t do yoga, I’m not flexible enough,’ and I want people to understand it not about you being flexible, that’s not an issue,” Sobel said.
“Just being here, showing up and connecting with breath, finding the time for peace, and let everything else go.”
