Sunny Day Ahead On Monmouth Beaches, But Watch For Rips

Waves will be from 2 to 3 feet high, with an ocean water temperature of 74 degrees.

MONMOUTH COUNTY, NJ - Looks like another great day at the beach.

The National Weather Service is calling for sunny skies, with highs in the lower 80s. Winds will be from the southwest around 5 miles per hour, becoming south at 10 to 15 miles per hour in the afternoon.

The rip current risk today is still moderate, as it has been all week. Check with your local beach patrol for problem spots before heading into the water. There are plenty of guarded beaches this time of the season, so make sure you find one. Never, ever swim on an unguarded beach and never swim alone or at night. There have been too many ocean deaths already this summer. Don't be a statistic.
