The rip current risk is low, for the first time in more than a week. But rips can still occur anytime, especially near jetties and other structures. Check with your local beach patrol about problem spots. Never, ever swim on an unguarded beach and never swim alone or at night. People have died on Jersey Shore beaches this summer. Don't be another statistic.
Waves today will be around 3 feet high, with southerly swells of 2 feet. The ocean water temperature is 75 degrees, although that can vary from beach to beach.
SubscribeThe ultraviolet index is an 8, which the NWS considers very high. So don't forget to use the sunscreen, or you'll be hurting tonight.
