Two Long Branch Residents Badly Injured After Car Hits Pole

The accident occurred on Long Branch Avenue late Thursday night.

A "serious" car accident in Long Branch badly injured two city residents on Thursday night, according Long Branch Director of Public Safety Jason Roebuck.

Roebuck said the accident, which involved a car hitting a pole, happened on Long Branch Avenue near the Lenna Conrow School at 11:13 p.m. 

Marvin Pineda and Jackeline Fernandez were taken to Jersey Shore Medical Center to be treated for serious injuries.

Roebuck said Fernandez and Pineda are expected to survive.

The cause of the accident is unknown and currently under investigation, Roebuck said.
