Very Calm Surf Forecast For Monmouth County Beaches Today

MONMOUTH COUNTY, NJ - The National Weather Service is calling for very calm seas and partly sunny skies today at Monmouth County beaches.

There's a low risk of rip currents, but don't let your guard down. Rips are still possible, especially near jetties and other structures. Most beaches are still unguarded this early in the season. Never swim on an unguarded beach and never swim alone or at night.

The ocean water temperature has yet to warm up. It's still a chilly 57 degrees. Waves today will be around 2 feet, building to around 3 feet in the afternoon. Swells will be light.

Skies will be partly sunny. Highs will be in the mid 60s. Winds will be from the southeast at 5 to 10 miles per hour. There is no lightning threat today. The ultraviolet index is an 8, which the NWS considers very high.

Low tide at Belmar arrived at 8:22 a.m. High tide will roll in at 2:35 p.m., followed by another low tide tonight at 8:59 p.m.
