Woman's Body Found Near Frozen Retention Pond In Neptune

The body of a woman was found Monday next to a snow-covered retention pond in Neptune Township:

NEPTUNE, NJ — The body of a woman was found Monday next to a snow-covered retention pond in Neptune Township, Neptune Twp. Police announced on their Facebook page.

The woman's body was found at midday Monday in the area of 230 Jumping Brook Road. It was a member of the public who found her body, and police were called there at 1:07 p.m.

The woman was described by police as Caucasian, and she was found "lying in the snow in a retention basin, wearing only a shirt and shorts."

Police have not released how she died, nor have they released her name. They are still trying to find the woman's family.
