248 Arrests Made In Long Valley During 2015
Washington Twp. police responded to more than 42,000 calls in 12 months.
LONG VALLEY, N.J. β Numerous promotions, new hires, and the appointment of a new chief all speckled the Washington Township Police Department in 2015, but that didnβt take away from a busy year that saw hundreds of arrests and thousands of incident responses.
According to Lt. Doug Compton, the department handled 42,296 calls for service or incidents. A βcallβ is deemed as any response made by a police officer. Washington Township police cover the municipality, which is 45 square miles, in addition to the borough of Califon, which is three square miles.
A total of 4,490 motor vehicle complaints were also issued, along with 5,265 motor vehicle warnings.

There were 248 arrests made in 2015, broken down by the following:
- Driving While Intoxicated: 24
- Controlled Dangerous Substances: 75
- Warrant Arrests: 69
- Other Criminal: 80
The Washington Township Police Department also recorded two Narcan saves of persons overdosing from opiate drugs.
