30 Inches Of Snow Possible With 10-Foot Drifts In Morris County
Officials warning residents to stay inside, off roads.

The first winter snowstorm of 2016 may be its worst, as accumulation projections have nearly doubled.
Morris County Office of Emergency Management released a statement around 10:30 a.m. Saturday, saying the storm has pushed further north than expected, and much of Morris County can now expect between 22 and 30 inches of snow to accumulate before all is said and done.

In addition to the snow totals, blizzard-like conditions are bringing wind gusts of 30 miles per hour and may cause snow drifts of five to 10 feet.
βThis is a dangerous storm,β the Office of Emergency Management said. βCars and even trucks will get stuck in snow this deep, stranding the occupants in blizzard conditions.β

The storm could bring snowfall totals of two inches per hour and is expected to stop after midnight Sunday morning.
As of 11 a.m. Saturday Jersey Central Power & Light was reporting less than five outages throughout Morris County.
