4 Days Off Added To Washington Twp. Schools Calendar

LONG VALLEY, N.J. – The Washington Township Schools Board of Education voted to amend its 2015-16 school calendar and add four days off to the remainder of the school year thanks to a mild winter that saw no inclement weather days applied.

The amended calendar shows school will now be closed on Friday, May 27, and the school year will end three days earlier in June, with the final day of classes now projected for June 15. Both June 14 and 15 will be early dismissal days.

By contrast, the West Morris Regional High School District added days off to its calendar, but extended spring break as well as Memorial Day weekend with the following days off:

• March 24 (start of spring break)
• April 4 (end of spring break)
• May 27 (Friday before Memorial Day)
• May 31 (Tuesday after Memorial Day)
• June 14

If an inclement weather day is used prior to the start of spring break, April 4 will be reinstated. If two are used, April 4 and March 24 will both be reinstated, the regional district said.
