Alleged Burglar, Man Accused of Assault By Auto Arrested in Long Valley: Cops
Wayne resident lied to cops during 2:30 a.m. traffic stop on Schooley's Mountain, police report.

LONG VALLEY - A North Jersey man with a history of arrests was picked up in Washington Township this week after lying to police about his identity, Lt. Doug Compton said.
Sgt. Michael Hade stopped Yorghi Turkmany, 27, of Wayne, on Schooley’s Mountain Road at 2:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 10 for a motor vehicle violation, Compton said.
While speaking with the driver, Turkmany was unable to give Hade any identification confirming his identity, then lied several times about his name and date of birth, Compton said.

Turkmany was then taken into custody and transported to police headquarters in an attempt to identify him.
While at headquarters Turkmany refused to answer any further questioning about his identity, Compton said. He was issued a criminal complaint charging him with providing false information to a law enforcement officer and was lodged in Morris County Correctional Facility in lieu of $10,000 bail.

Further investigation by Hade, in conjunction with the Morris County Sheriff’s Office lead to identifying Turkmany, who was then issued motor vehicle complaints for speeding, driving while suspended, and failure to exhibit documents.
This isn’t Turkmany’s first run-in with the law, either. The Wayne resident was arrested in November in Hanover for two outstanding warrants, according to dailyrecord.com.
In 2012, Turkmany was jailed after allegedly assaulting another driver with his vehicle in a road rage incident in Lincoln Park, northjersey.com reported.
In 2013, Turkmany was implicated in a Ridgewood house burglary that occurred the previous summer.
