Cop Recognized For Life-Saving Response In Long Valley
Officer Anthony Costantino was recently honored by the Washington Township Police Department.

LONG VALLEY, NJ — A Washington Township police officer was recently honored for his service to the community, including saving the life of a 51-year-old man who suffered a heart attack.
Earlier in May, Police Officer Anthony Costantino responded to a radio call for a 51-year-old male who was unresponsive on the ground, officials said.
Upon arriving, Costantino quickly accessed the patient and determined he did not have a pulse and was not breathing.

According to the police department, Costantino immediately began CPR and utilized his AED, causing the man's heartbeat to return.
"WTPD would like to commend Anthony on a job well done and wish the resident who suffered this medical event a speedy recovery," the police department said in a social media post.

According to officials, the patient was conscious, alert, and talking again before being taken to a nearby hospital.
Costantino joined the Washington Township Police Department in 2019 after successfully graduating from the 92nd Basic Police Class at the Morris County Public Safety Training Academy.
