Dedicated Long Valley Scout Receives Praise For Gold Award Efforts
Kristina Denzler helped sick children smile with mural project.

LONG VALLEY, N.J. β Thereβs dedication, and then thereβs what Kristina Denzler did for children with illnesses.
Denzler, a Long Valley resident part of Girl Scout Troop 80930 in Washington Township, was recently honored by the Morris County Board of Chosen Freeholders for the work she did to achieve her Gold Award.
Denzler, a senior at West Morris Central, created a βMural of Miraclesβ which focused on the issue of reducing stress that exists as a result of being hospitalized.

But Denzler went above and beyond to accomplish her goal and traveled to St. Judeβs Childrenβs Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, where she worked with young patients to help them use their artistic talents to create their own unique works of art.
As a result, Denzler earned her award and received high praise from county officials.

βWe are honored to present a certificate to this young lady who is a future leader of our county,ββ said Freeholder Director Kathy DeFillippo in a statement. βThe project she completed to become a Gold Award Scout is quite impressive.β
Denzler attended the event with her mother and received a certificate of achievement from the freeholders.
