NJ Woman Maces Driver During Dispute, Police Say

The victim required emergency medical care as a result of the pepper spraying, police said.

SUSSEX COUNTY, NJ — A Sussex County woman has been arrested after using pepper spray on a driver during an altercation, according to police.

Lauren Wade, 43, of Franklin Borough, was arrested on Thursday and now faces weapons and assault charges.

That day, Franklin Borough police officers were called to Main Street in Franklin Borough on a report of an assault.

Wade was found to have used pepper spray on the face of a driver who was sitting in a parked car, authorities said.

Authorities said the victim required emergency medical care following the pepper spray assault.

The reason for the dispute is not clear at this time.

Wade was charged with simple assault and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.

She was booked and later released pending a court date with the Sussex County Superior Court.
