Duo Arrested In Washington Twp. With $8K In Counterfeit Money: Cops
Men were attempting to make purchase at Target Department Store, police said.

LONG VALLEY, N.J. β A duo from New York were arrested in Washington Township Friday for allegedly having more than $8,000 in counterfeit money after attempting to make a purchase at the Target Department Store on Route 46, police said.
Washington Township police received notification from the Target Asset Protection Team just after 3 p.m. on Jan. 22 regarding two men who attempted to use counterfeit $100 bills, Lt. Doug Compton said.
Lt. Christopher Bratus responded and observed the suspects and their vehicle leaving the Target parking lot and subsequently made a motor vehicle stop on Hearthstone Road, Compton said.

Bratus was assisted by Officer Kevin Barnes at the scene, and during an investigation, Kenneth Brobby, 22, and Javanni Moise, 21, both of Brooklyn, New York, were found to be in possession of more than $8,000 in counterfeit $100 bills, Compton said.
The duo was arrested and Moise was charged with forgery. Brobby was charged with forgery and uttering a forged document and taken to Morris County Correctional Facility in lieu of $7,500 bail.

Members of the United States Secret Service assisted in the investigation.
