Elderly Woman Hit By Car That Rolled Into Morris Co. Lake: PD

Police say the car was in the woman's driveway before it struck her.

HARDING, NJ β€” An elderly woman was struck by her own car before it rolled into a lake Wednesday morning, Harding Police Chief Erik J. Heller said.

The 88-year-old woman was standing near her car at her Lake Trail West home's driveway when the car began rolling back, Heller said. The car hit the woman on her left side before rolling down a grass embankment and into Mt. Kemble Lake.

The car became completely submerged in the lake, Heller said. No one was in the car, and no one else was injured. The woman was taken by ambulance to Morristown Medical Center. She is injured but in stable condition.
