LONG VALLEY, NJ — A Long Valley business recently donated its time and services to a local nonprofit to aid in the construction of a much-needed group home in Morris County.

Golden Wolf Landscape & Design, a Long Valley-based landscaping company, donated its time and services to clear leaves and remove small trees from Rose House’s newest group home in Morris Plains.

Rose House, based in Morris County, provides group homes and independent living apartments for adults with developmental disabilities. Their newest group home is expected to open in May 2023.

According to officials, Golden Wolf Landscape & Design donated $2,400 worth of its services to the project this month.

"We didn’t ask them for help. The business selflessly reached out and asked what they could do for our clients with special needs. It just so happened that our new group home needed cleaning up before the opening," Rose House CEO Tom Mitchell said.

The volunteer relationship between Rose House and Golden Wolf first began this past winter, when the landscaping company volunteered to remove a 20-foot oak tree at a Budd Lake group home to make way for a wheelchair ramp.

"After the first volunteer job, we realized this is a special organization that we wanted to continue supporting," Golden Wolf President Marcus Celiano said. "It was a win-win because they were grateful for our services, and it’s a rewarding experience to help community members with developmental disabilities."

Rose House provides tailored, self-directed programs to meet each individual's needs. According to officials, the organization's vision is an inclusive community where everyone has a loving home.
