Long Valley Driver Busted With Heroin During Traffic Stop: Cops
Incident occurred on Pleasant Grove Road over the weekend, police report.
LONG VALLEY, N.J. β A swerving driver ended up in handcuffs when police allegedly found heroin in his car, Lt. Doug Compton said.
At 1:11 p.m. on May 7, Cpl. Adam Feichter stopped a green Honda Element on Pleasant Grove Road for failure to maintain its lane, Compton said. When Feichter spoke with the driver, Jason Vlardi, 39, of Long Valley, the officer smelled the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle, Compton said.
An investigation led Feichter to find six folds of heroin stamped βMade in Mexicoβ inside the car, Compton said. Vlardi was placed under arrest and taken to police headquarters.

Vlardi was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, failure to observe traffic lanes, and possession of controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle.
Vlardi was released with a court appearance.
