Long Valley Fire Under Investigation By Prosecutor's Office

The Prosecutor's Office has an active investigation open into the Pickle Road fire.

LONG VALLEY, NJ — A Monday night fire in Long Valley remains under investigation by the Morris County Prosecutor's Office, a spokesperson said.

Spokesperson Peter DiGenaro confirmed that the prosecutor's office was investigating a Pickle Road fire, but declined to release more information. He said he wasn't sure if the fire was at the site of the old Emerald Farms.

Mayor Matt Murello said one of the buildings on the site was totally destroyed, but other buildings were saved. "Our volunteer firefighters and first aid squad were out all night, with the WTPD, in temperatures approaching 0, and we are all thankful for their commitment to the Township," Murello said.

The Long Valley First Aid Squad said they were on the site of the fire around 11:30 p.m. Monday night, adding that it was "going to be a long night."

The Washington Township Police Department referred all questions about the fire to the Prosecutor's Office.
