Long Valley Salutes Retiring Police Lieutenant After 30 Years Of Service
A 30-year veteran of the Washington Township Police Department has officially retired from the force, authorities said.

LONG VALLEY, NJ — A 30-year veteran of the Washington Township Police Department officially retired from the force, following a walkout ceremony attended by Mayor Matt Murello, authorities said.
Lieutenant Mark Niemynski had his official walkout ceremony this week, commemorating his long career with the local police department.
Niemynski, who joined the department in 1993 after graduating from the Morris County Police Academy, was initially assigned to the patrol division. He was later assigned to the Community Policing/DARE unit until his promotion to Sergeant in 1998, according to Lt. Chris Bratus.

"Mark worked as a patrol supervisor until his promotion to Lieutenant. During the next few years, Mark was the commanding officer of the Patrol Division before being assigned to the Administrative Division where he remained until his retirement," Bratus said.
Niemynski worked as the department's accreditation manager throughout his career. He also taught at the Morris County Police Academy and the NJAOCP Command and Leadership School. During his 30 years of service, he received two educational awards, a DARE service award, six Grand Cordons and a Life Saving award.

"We wish Mark a long and healthy retirement and thank him for his three decades of service," Bratus said.
