Long Valley Woman Charged In Mendham Hit-And-Run

Police say the woman drove the boy home after the crash.

MENDHAM BOROUGH, NJ β€” A Long Valley woman has been charged in connection to a November hit-and-run in Mendham Borough, police said.

The woman, whose name is not being released at this time, is accused of hitting a teen boy in the crosswalk at East Main Street and Tempe Wick Road.

The woman drove the boy home after the crash and dropped him off in his driveway, police said. She faces charges of leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident and failing to report a motor vehicle accident to police.

The charges come several days after police asked residents for any information they had on the crash after all leads were exhausted; a witness came forward and provided a statement to police.

"We urge both drivers and pedestrians to be extra cautious when approaching any crosswalk to help avoid incidents like this from occurring in the future," police said.
